Walkspace offers Gaussian splatting as a service in the UK
1 minute readBy Zac FoxLast checked
Gaussian splatting is a capture method that rebuilds a real room as millions of small, soft points of colour. Doing it well takes a capture camera, a computer with a strong graphics card, processing software and somewhere to host the result, and a service covers all of that for you.
Questions to ask any UK provider
- Who walks the rooms on the day? Ask for the team that sets the tour up, since they know the rooms.
- Where is the tour hosted? It belongs on your own website, not on theirs.
- What is in the monthly fee? It should cover hosting and a visitor report.
- How is travel charged? Ask for the rule in writing.
- What happens if you stop? Ask whether anything is deleted.
How Walkspace answers them
We walk every room ourselves and set the tour up by hand. It sits on your website from one line of embed code, and the monthly fee covers hosting, a visitor report and one refresh day a year.
Travel is recharged at cost inside the capture total: the first 30 miles each way are free, then 45p a mile on the round trip, and a night away at £95 is added past 200 miles each way. The pricing page shows how the capture price follows the size of each space.
The monthly fee rolls month to month and you can stop at any time. The tour then stays up as a static tour for 90 days and is archived, never deleted.
Our comparison with Matterport sets the two side by side.
