Midlands: travel and grants for venues
Birmingham is 127 miles from Blackpool, near the far end of what we cover as a day trip. Venues in the Black Country and around Coventry are much the same drive.
What travel adds to the quote
We are based in Blackpool and drive to every capture. The first 30 miles each way are free; after that it is 45p a mile, charged on the round trip. We drive this distance there and back in a day when the scan starts at 10am or later, so no night away is added.
Venues we expect to capture here
Birmingham's conference centres and canal-side warehouses run events all year, and planners booking from elsewhere want to see the main hall and the breakout rooms without a site visit. The Black Country has industrial heritage sites and working museums, and the countryside around the city has wedding venues in converted farms and manor houses.
Grants a venue here can use
- Heritage Fund, £10,000 to £250,000, no deadline. An industrial heritage site or a working museum can put a 3D record of its buildings into a heritage bid.
- Arts Council Project Grants, £1,000 to £100,000, decided in 12 to 14 weeks. A concert hall or gallery can budget visitor access work inside a project.
Each grant is paid to the venue, and we invoice the venue as its supplier.
