North West: travel and grants for venues
Manchester is 52 miles from Blackpool by road, close enough that a morning capture there is an ordinary working day for us. Venues across Greater Manchester and the rest of Lancashire are a similar drive.
What travel adds to the quote
We are based in Blackpool and drive to every capture. The first 30 miles each way are free; after that it is 45p a mile, charged on the round trip. At this distance there is no night away to pay for.
Venues we expect to capture here
Converted mills and warehouses in Ancoats and along the canals host weddings, launches and dinners, and most of them are booked on the look of the room itself. Hotels with function suites and the city's music venues come next. Further out, manufacturers with a showroom or a factory floor they want buyers to walk round can use the Made Smarter grant below.
Grants a venue here can use
- Heritage Fund, £10,000 to £250,000, no deadline. A listed mill or a museum can put a 3D record of its building into a heritage bid.
- Arts Council Project Grants, £1,000 to £100,000, decided in 12 to 14 weeks. A theatre, gallery or music venue can budget visitor access work inside a project.
- Made Smarter North West, half the cost, up to £20,000. North West manufacturers adopting new technology can use it for a showroom or factory walk-round, and the grant pays our invoice.
Each grant is paid to the venue, and we invoice the venue as its supplier.
